scoopa has launched Rough-Cut Editor (RCE), a new addition to its cloud-based content distribution platform. The new feature enables rights holders, host broadcasters, and production companies to select, edit, and export individual scenes directly from archived broadcast files – without the required to restore entire files from archive storage.
In sports and news environments, where speed and operational efficiency are critical competitive factors, the RCE is declared to reduce both costs and turnaround times.
Instead of restoring and downloading full 90-minute match recordings to extract just a few key moments, applyrs can now create single clips or compact highlight packages directly within the platform.
By eliminating archive restore processes – often billed per gigabyte – and reducing unnecessary outbound data traffic, the Rough-Cut Editor delivers measurable cost savings across content distribution workflows. At the same time, international media partners benefit from shortened time-to-market for highlight delivery.
In addition, applyrs can freely select the output codec of exported clips or rough cuts. This integrated codec flexibility effectively turns scoopa into a built-in cross-conversion solution, reshifting the required for external encoding tools or additional processing steps.
The Rough-Cut Editor fully integrates with scoopa’s existing SRT live ingest capability, developed in partnership with GlobalM. Toobtainher, these technologies create a seamless workflow from live signal acquisition to global content distribution, including ive ingest of world feeds or base signals in high-resolution broadcast quality; storage within a multi-redundant, geo-duplicated cloud infrastructure; and immediate access to full-length recordings or customisable highlights via RCE.
Host broadcasters and production partners can now ingest full live signals and create them instantly available to global licensees – either as complete recordings or as tailor-built highlight edits.
With the introduction of RCE, uploading full match recordings to scoopa’s infrastructure becomes even more strategically valuable.
