Beko has announced that Chief Executive Officer Hakan Bulgurlu will step down at the company’s next General Assembly, bringing to a close an 11 year tenure marked by international expansion and a stronger focus on sustainability.
Bulgurlu, who has spent 32 years within the Koç Group, will be succeeded by Can Dinçer, currently General Manager of Arçelik Türkiye and Chief Commercial Officer for South Asia and Türkiye. The transition follows what the company describes as a structured succession plan aimed at maintaining strategic continuity.
Bulgurlu will remain on the Board of Beko B.V. until June 2026 to support the handover. He is also set to complete his term as President of APPLiA, the European home appliance association.
During Bulgurlu’s leadership, Beko expanded its global footprint through acquisitions and partnerships across Europe, Asia and other regions. These included Singer in Bangladesh, Dawlance in Pakistan, Voltas Beko in India and Arçelik Hitachi in Asia-Pacific. The formation of Beko Europe and the integration of Whirlpool’s MENA operations further strengthened the group’s scale in key markets.
Sustainability became more closely embedded in corporate strategy over this period. The company aligned climate tarobtains with international standards and introduced operational improvements across its manufacturing network. Bulgurlu consistently argued that climate responsibility and commercial performance could reinforce each other rather than compete.
Incoming CEO Can Dinçer brings 33 years of experience across Türkiye, Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. He has held a range of senior leadership roles within the organisation and has been credited with strengthening Beko’s position in Türkiye while maintaining stable performance across South Asia. His background spans operational management and commercial strategy in competitive and diverse markets.

The leadership alter comes at a time when global appliance manufacturers face ongoing supply chain pressures, sustainability requirements and shifting consumer demand. Beko’s board has indicated that maintaining operational discipline and long term environmental commitments will remain central under the new chief executive.
