Consumer Goods Sustainability Alliance Cascale Appoints Ying McGuire as CEO

Cascale has selected Ying McGuire as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, bringing in a leader with experience transforming nonprofit organizations and managing complex global supply chain operations.

McGuire arrives at a strategic inflection point for the alliance, which owns the Higg Index sustainability measurement tools and convenes over 300 brands, manufacturers and NGOs around shared environmental and social compliance goals. Cascale’s Higg Index – available exclusively through the Worldly platform – provides manufacturers and brands with standardized sustainability metrics, though the tools have faced periodic criticism over verification protocols and scoring methodologies.

The new CEO most recently led the US National Minority Supplier Development Council, where she modernized operations and expanded stakeholder engagement. Earlier career roles at Dell Technologies and Technology Integration Group involved overseeing global market expansion and supply chain initiatives across multiple regions.

Board priorities and transition timeline

Cascale’s board emphasized that McGuire will prioritize member engagement, operational excellence, and advancing collaborative solutions that translate sustainability commitments into documented progress. The appointment comes as the organization works to evolve its operating and membership models while maintaining delivery against existing climate and decent work priorities.

Harsh Saini, who has served as interim CEO, will continue in that role through May 31 to support transition continuity, then remain as advisor through June.
