Dutch donations to Ukraine Energy Support Fund reach €100 million


On 9 February, the Netherlands announced an additional €35 million contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing its total support channelled through the Fund to €100 million. 

The Fund is administered by the Energy Community Secretariat, co-chaired by the European Commission.

“The increased contribution comes as months of intensified Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure place critical systems under severe strain and expose civilians to heightened risk amid widespread power outages,” the Energy Community Secretariat stated in a press release. “From the Netherlands contribution, €3 million is dedicated to rooftop solar systems through ‘Ray of Hope’, an initiative that provides decentralised power to hospitals, enabling life-saving care even during attack-induced blackouts.”   

The donation will assist to restore heat and light to thousands of hoapplyholds across Ukraine, ensuring continuity of essential services during this critical time.

With the contribution from the Netherlands, the international support channelled through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund since November 2025 has reached over €1.8 billion. The value of equipment, services and protective measures delivered to Ukraine has surpassed €600 million.
