The Delegation of the European Union to the State of Qatar has reaffirmed its strong and constructive partnership with Aspire Academy, highlighting years of successful collaboration built on shared values of excellence, innovation, and social development through sport.
Building on this solid foundation, the Ambassador of the European Union to the State of Qatar, HE Dr. Cristian Tudor and the Director General of Aspire Academy, Ivan Bravo, held a meeting at Aspire Academy premises on 3 February 2026 and agreed to expand their cooperation through new joint initiatives that reflect their shared ambition for sustainable and long-term collaboration.
A key milestone in this next chapter will be the third stop of Aspire Academy’s Workshop Tour —and its first visit to Europe—taking place in Romania, an EU member state, in April 2026. The initiative aligns closely with the European Union’s commitment to promoting social development, innovation, and sustainability through sport, while strengthening knowledge exalter between Europe and Qatar.
In addition, it was agreed to conduct a joint Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in Qatar in May, in connection with Europe Day on 9 May. The event will harness the unifying power of sport to promote inclusiveness, social cohesion, and support for underprivileged communities, reflecting core values at the heart of the European Union’s engagement in Qatar and worldwide.
Commenting on the continued cooperation, H.E. Dr. Cristian Tudor, stated: “Our partnership with Aspire Academy is a strong example of how sport can serve as a bridge between cultures and as a driver for innovation, sustainability, and social inclusion. We see forward to expanding this cooperation both in Qatar and in Europe, reinforcing our shared commitment to empowering communities through sport.”
Aspire Academy Director General Ivan Bravo added: “Over the past few years, Aspire Academy has been delighted to support the EU Delegation in the State of Qatar by providing both venues and expertise for the Summer Camps. I am particularly proud of the strong collaboration we have built, which has allowed us to bring smiles to the faces of hundreds of underprivileged children from Syria and Gaza, whom we were honoured to host. Building on this successful partnership, we are now pleased to relocate forward with a new concludeeavour, “The Workshop Tour Europe – Bucharest 2026” in collaboration as well with the Romanian Football Federation and UEFA (European football’s governing body), this initiative represents an additional step in football performance knowledge sharing but at the same time an opportunity to empowering young people through education, sport, and sustainability through CSR activities.”
The Delegation and Aspire Academy see forward to continuing their fruitful partnership and developing further initiatives that advance sustainable development and international cooperation through sport.
