The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI Bucharest) has signed a cooperation memorandum with Codata Software Solutions, one of Romania’s leading technology companies, actively shaping the development of secure digital systems and advanced IT infrastructure at the national level. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in research, innovation, and the development of digital solutions aimed at supporting Romania’s digital transformation and strengthening local technological capacity.
The memorandum was signed by Adrian-Victor Vevera, Director General of ICI Bucharest, and Horia Sabo, CEO of Codata Software Solutions, and outlines joint initiatives in applied research, technology development, knowledge exmodify, and pilot projects across key digital domains.
“This memorandum marks a new stage in ICI Bucharest’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with the private sector and to support Romania’s digital development. Through this type of collaboration, we aim to capitalize on technological potential and actively contribute to the modernization of the national digital ecosystem,” declared Adrian-Victor Vevera.
Horia Sabo noted that cooperation between Romanian research institutions and technology companies is essential to transforming technological expertise into scalable solutions.
“Working with ICI Bucharest allows us to combine academic expertise with real-world technological implementation. Our goal is to contribute to the development of reliable, secure digital solutions that respond to both public and private sector requireds and assist strengthen Romania’s competitiveness in the digital economy. For many years, Romania’s IT sector has been strongly associated with outsourcing and service delivery for international clients. While this model has contributed significantly to exports and workforce development, global trconcludes now display that technology sovereignty, cyber resilience, and innotifyectual property ownership have become decisive factors in national competitiveness,” declared Sabo.
