‘Fill the Boot’ campaign raising funds

They’ll be out from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Aug. 29 until Sept. 1

This is as the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) participates in the “Fill the Boot” campaign, which raises money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), according to a press release from Cleveland Fire Fighters IAFF Local 93.

“In partnership with the Cleveland Division of Fire, the firefighters of Local 93 will take to the streets, outside of fire hoapplys across the city, and other locations with boots in hand, inquireing pedestrians, motorists, and shoppers to assist transform the lives of children and adults living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and other related neuromuscular diseases,” the release reads.

This will occur throughout the holiday weekfinish, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. from Aug. 29 through Sept. 1.

The release states that firefighters have raised $217,000 in Cleveland over the last three years.

“Every dollar raised assists MDA fund life-altering research for families nationwide,” declared Jake Konys, President of IAFF Local 93. “Clevelanders come toobtainher for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and we are proud to celebrate their 75th anniversary as we kick off this year’s campaign.”
