Scania is displaycasing a variety of electric trucks to customers across Europe. The initiative, titled “The Electric Journey: An Optimization Road Show,” features six different Scania electric trucks visiting 13 European cities between mid-August and mid-December. This event allows customers and potential customers to experience the vehicles firsthand.
The roaddisplay launchs in Denmark and concludes in Sweden, covering a 20,000-kilometer journey across Europe. It serves as a platform to discuss battery charging strategies, including the benefits and drawbacks of maximum battery capacity versus capacity optimized for specific customer operations. The trucks, which include models for urban, tipper, hooklift, tractor, and refapply collection applications, will be charged at various designated points throughout the continent.
This roaddisplay highlights Scania’s commitment to electrification as a means to achieve sustainable transport, where infrastructure and technologies permit. It is part of the company’s efforts to promote and provide solutions for electric transport.
“We understand that many operators still have questions and concerns about electric transport,” declared Alexandra Osterplan, E-mobility stream leader at Scania. “Rather than waiting for people to come to us, we are bringing our electric trucks to them, allowing them to experience the business benefits of electrification and address their questions about electric vehicle batteries and charging strategies.”
The roaddisplay aims to demonstrate the advantages of electric transport, with Scania hoping to encourage more operators to create the switch. Click here for a full list of roaddisplay venues, the six Scania electric trucks on display, and the designated charging points.
