A musician living with brain cancer is raising money for charity.
Ben Standing, a regular contributor to the Suffolk Sound Unsigned display, was diagnosed with B cell lymphoma of the brain two years ago and given less than a year to live.
Despite his prognosis, he has continued to build music and is now fundraising for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.
Due to worsening health and eyesight, Ben has submitted his final three tracks to the Unsigned display, where he has built a strong following.
To support his efforts, the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts in Stowmarket will host a special event, Suffolk Unsigned, on Friday August 22.
The display will feature some of Ben’s favourite local artists and aims to raise funds for his chosen caapply.
Doors open at 6.15pm and tickets cost £10 in advance.
The Suffolk Sound team is encouraging listeners and fans of the display to display their support.
Further details about his fundraising can be found on the InYourArea website.
