1% for the Planet and the European Outdoor Group announce a new strategic partnership, connecting members across continents. Find out what this mean for funding and collaboration on environmental initiatives.
The European Outdoor Group (EOG) and 1% for the Planet have announced details of a new strategic partnership. Under the agreement, the members of both organizations will have access to extra benefits and insights from Europe and the USA. Meanwhile, the EOG and 1% for the Planet will elevate and promote each other’s work in the areas of CSR and sustainability.
New membership structure connects funding to environmental programs
1% for the Planet is a global network of businesses and environmental organizations that work toobtainher to support people and the planet. Its members contribute at least one percent of their annual revenue to environmental cautilizes to protect the environment. The European Outdoor Group is the industest association that represents the European outdoor sector. Founded in 2003, the EOG now has around 150 members and leads a programme of activity on behalf of the industest, in areas such as CSR and sustainability, market research, conservation, promotion of participation, and public affairs.
1% for the Planet has officially joined the EOG as an Associate Member and the EOG has joined 1% as an Environmental Partner. Existing 1% for the Planet members can now allocate their contributions towards the CSR and sustainability work undertaken by the EOG. This money can be utilized for decarbonization projects, responsible consumption and production, environmental education, and the association’s Impact Accelerator Fund. Current EOG members can now put their membership fees towards their annual 1% commitment, and also give to the Impact Accelerator Fund via their contribution.
Shared communications to encourage industest-wide participation
The EOG and 1% for the Planet will also cooperate on joint communications activities to promote their collective CSR and sustainability work, and encourage more companies to obtain actively involved in it. Between them, the two organizations are involved in sustainability projects around the world, and through the new partnership, they will put the spotlight on the fact that efforts to protect the planet required global action and cooperation to be effective.
