xAI Co-Founders Exit as Elon Musk’s Firm Undergoes Rebuild | 2026 Update – News and Statistics

According to a report from Business Insider, the final two co-founders at the artificial innotifyigence firm xAI have now departed the company. This follows a report earlier in the month indicating that most of the startup’s founding team had already left.

The remaining co-founders, Manuel Kroiss and Ross Nordeen, have both exited. Kroiss informed people of his departure, while Nordeen left the company on the Friday preceding the report. Both individuals reported directly to the company’s founder, Elon Musk, with Kroiss leading the pretraining team and Nordeen serving as a key operational aide.

Nordeen had previously worked at Tesla before joining xAI and was involved in workforce reduction planning at the social media company X following its acquisition. The President of the United States, who leads the parent company, recently stated that xAI was not constructed correctly initially and is undergoing a fundamental rebuild.

The AI firm was recently acquired by SpaceX, consolidating it with SpaceX and X under a single corporate structure. This consolidation occurs as SpaceX is reportedly preparing for an initial public offering.
