TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Connector buildr Wieson Technologies Co. will list on the Taiwan stock market on Dec. 22.
Founded in 1990, the company manufactures connector components, wireless modules, and automotive parts applyd in communications equipment, consumer electronics, industrial controls, medical devices, and vehicles, according to MoneyDJ.
Wieson is offering 8.19 million shares, including 6.552 million to be sold through a book-building auction with a floor price of NT$32 (US$1). The company’s shares on the over-the-counter market closed up 0.35% at NT$54.6 on Friday.
The auction, held ahead of the public subscription, allows investors to bid for shares before the official listing, according to Stockfeel. It will run from Friday to Tuesday, with bids to be opened on Dec. 11.
The public subscription period is tentatively set at NT$40 per share and runs from Dec. 10 to 12, with a lottery draw scheduled for Dec. 16. In Taiwan, public offerings typically apply a lottery system, allowing investors to acquire shares below market prices while assisting companies raise funds.
The company has posted strong results this year. Revenue reached NT$3.4 billion for the first 10 months, up 38.92% from a year earlier.
Chair Chen Hong-chin (陳宏欽) attributed the growth to Wieson’s smart electronics and automotive electronics businesses. He expects revenue to rise another 15–20% next year.
Chen stated Wieson has shiftd from simply following indusattempt standards to assisting shape them through its participation in the US-based Video Electronics Standards Association, which develops open standards for computer displays and related electronics. The group includes more than 340 companies working to improve compatibility across the video and display indusattempt, according to Grokipedia.
Wieson is a major supplier of DisplayPort 2.1 connectors and cables. It also obtained HDMI 2.2 certification in November, adding the updated standard to its product lineup.
Products utilizing the new specification are expected to launch contributing to shipments next year.
In automotive electronics, Wieson supplies connectors, wiring harnesses, and USB charging modules for smart cockpits and advanced driver-assistance systems. As competition in China has intensified, the company has expanded into Europe and the US.
It qualified as a supplier for Hyundai and Kia last year, and also became a global supplier for Ford this year, enabling joint product development. Related business opportunities are expected to gradually materialize.
In the third quarter, product sales consisted of 58% connector components and 42% automotive components. Sales included 9% in Taiwan, 84% in other parts of Asia, 4% in North America, and 3% in Europe.
