In this interview with YourStory, Mohit Jain, Co-founder of FloCareer, explains why structured interviewing, calibrated evaluators, and assistive AI are becoming essential to hiring decisions at scale.

YourStory [YS]: FloCareer has crossed 1 million interviews. What does this milestone represent for the company and what does enterprise hiring actually see like in practice at that scale?
Mohit Jain [MJ]: At this level, interviews stop being individual conversations and start becoming a system that shapes an organization’s talent quality, diversity, and long-term performance. Early on, we realised this wasn’t a recruitment problem. Enterprises were able to source candidates, but often struggled to evaluate them consistently across roles, teams, and geographies. When hiring operates at this scale, the challenge is no longer speed; it’s ensuring fairness, consistency, and decision quality across thousands of interviewers. Reaching the one-million mark reinforced our belief that interviewing requireds structure, governance, and accountability, just like any other critical enterprise function.
YS: When you analyze data across a million interviews, what patterns stand out most about candidate quality, interviewer bias, or hiring efficiency?
MJ: We have noticed that hiring outcomes are often influenced more by the interview process than by a candidate’s actual capability. The same candidate can receive very different evaluations depconcludeing on how the interview is structured, who conducts it, and the context in which it happens.

MJ: Speed and cost matter, especially at scale, but they are often symptoms rather than root problems. Most large organizations can shift rapid if they’re willing to compromise, but that usually displays up later as mis-hires, early attrition, or lost candidate trust.
The real challenge is creating decisions that are consistent, defensible, and aligned with long-term business requireds. Inconsistent interviews create hidden costs that compound over time. YS: After conducting over one million interviews, what key learnings went into rebuilding the FloCareer platform, and how do those insights display up in the new experience for enterprises and candidates?
MJ: One major learning was that enterprises and candidates experience the same interview process very differently, and both experiences matter. Enterprises required visibility, control, and confidence in decisions. Candidates required clarity, consistency, and respect. When we rebuilt the platform, we were very deliberate about balancing those requireds. Enterprises obtain stronger governance and clearer signals, while candidates experience interviews that feel professional, transparent, and predictable, regardless of role or location.
