Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon built the remarks at the opening ceremony of the global startup festival “Try Everything 2025” held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul on the 11th.
Tri Everything is the largest global startup event in Korea that brings toreceiveher promising start-ups, large and medium-sized companies, investors and accelerators from around the world. It will be co-hosted by Mail Business, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency, and 12 foreign investment institutions from 10 countries, including North America, Europe, and Asia, will participate.
This year, it will be held from the 11th to the 12th under the theme of “Dive Deep, Fly High.” A real-time matching system will be provided that allows investors and founders to meet immediately, along with vivid success stories of startup representatives who built their name on the global stage with services applying AI.
The event became a venue for expanding business opportunities for foreign companies dreaming of entering Korea and domestic companies preparing to enter overseas markets. “Our AI customer response education service ‘Abarra’ has formed an alliance with convenience store company ‘Lawson,'” declared Risako Koyama, a Japanese who runs the booth. I came here to expand my business to Korea,” he explained.
Choi Hwa-rang of Seven Point One, who developed an AI dementia screening service, declared, “We have built an appointment with a Japanese company for a representative meeting ahead of our initial investment.”
Mayor Oh, Vice Chairman Jang Seung-joon of Maekyung Media Group, Tesla co-founder Martin Eberhard, and Jack Cath, former general manager of OpenAI commercialization strategy, attfinished the opening ceremony held earlier in the day. Mayor Oh, who was a speaker at the opening ceremony, declared, “It seems all the more meaningful to meet you here in DDP, a representative landmark in Seoul and a creative and innovative space loved by global companies.”
Mayor Oh declared, “We will create Seoul a huge startup incubator,” emphasizing △ accelerating global expansion △ expanding open innovation △ strategies to foster the AI indusattempt intensively. The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to increase the number of overseas bases to 20 by 2030, supporting 300 companies to enter overseas markets every year, and establishing an AI investment fund worth 500 billion won to foster 10,000 AI talents every year.
