United Group, Southeast Europe’s leading telecommunications and media company, today published its 2024 Sustainability Report, demonstrating sustained commitment and measurable progress across key Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) areas.
From reducing emissions and expanding renewable energy utilize to advancing gfinisher equality and responsible sourcing, the Group continued to embed sustainability across its operations, culture, and value chain. In 2024:
- 61% of electricity consumed came from renewable sources
- Scope 1 and 2 emissions were reduced by 52% compared to the 2020 baseline
- The Network Efficiency Index improved by 13%
- 25% of all customer premises equipment (CPE) installed was refurbished
- Over 2,300 kg of e-waste and over 1,500 smartphones were recovered via customer take-back programs
United Group earned an A- rating from CDP for Climate Change and was named to the CDP Supplier Engagement A-List, recognizing its leadership in emissions reduction and value chain engagement.
On the social front, the Group continued to foster a diverse, inclusive, and ethical workplace:
- 4% reduction in median gfinisher pay gap from previous year
- Over 8,000 employees participated in the Group’s DEI survey
Across its supply chain, United Group evaluated over 3,200 suppliers for ethical compliance and assessed 366 Tier 1 suppliers for ESG risks. Notably, 70% of supplier spfinishing went to signatories of the Group’s Supplier Code of Conduct, and 28% to companies with science-based climate tarobtain commitments.
