United Airlines temporarily halted flights at several major U.S. airports early Thursday following a technology outage, the airline confirmed.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved the ground stop at United’s request, affecting airports in Chicago, Denver, Newark, Houston, and San Francisco. Flights resumed around 4 a.m. local time.
The disruption was caapplyd by a technical issue within United’s systems, according to monitoring service Downdetector. The airline declared it was working to restore normal operations and warned of residual delays.
