Ukrainian defense tech company Sine Engineering was among the winners of the NATO Innovation Range international technology solutions competition, which took place on December 8–10 in Finland.
This was announced by Oles Khudoba, co-founder of Double Tap Investments, who headed the Ukrainian delegation.
Context and participants
Seventeen European defense companies took part in the event. Among the competitors were both well-known startups and recognized market players, including:
Ukraine was represented by two teams at the competition: Sine Engineering and Dwarf Engineering.
Ukrainian military personnel from the 413th Separate Regiment of the Raid Unmanned Systems Forces were invited to join the jury and mentoring team.
Competition results
The competition program included presentations of solutions (pitching) and field tests at a training ground in conditions as close to real life as possible.
The competition was held in four categories covering stable communication, AI solutions for decision-creating, 5G/6G integration, and equipment operation in extreme conditions.
Sine Engineering won in the category evaluating solutions for ensuring communication with unmanned aerial vehicles. The company already has a representative office in Finland.

the Finnish team Kelluu (autonomous airships).
According to Oles Khudoba, many of the foreign solutions presented at the competition are already being tested in Ukraine or were developed taking into account the experience of combat operations on the Ukrainian front.
