VivaTech, one of Europe’s largest events for startups and technology, has published the new edition of the ranking “Top 100 Rising European Startups”. The list highlights the 100 most promising startups in the European tech ecosystem and includes companies from 12 countries that stand out for rapid growth and transformation potential. The 100 companies were selected jointly with the VCs Accel, Eurazeo, HV Capital, Northzone, and Partech.
Geographic Distribution and Diversity
The ranking has been comprehensively revised: 70 newcomers complement the 30 startups from the previous year. The list covers 28 different sectors and displays clear geographic concentration. The United Kingdom, France, and Germany toreceiveher account for 74 percent of the listed startups (28, 23, and 23 companies). The Nordic countries display particular strength in AI and Climate Tech, while Italy is catching up in LegalTech and AgriTech.

Specialization of Artificial Innotifyigence
Artificial Innotifyigence is increasingly developing vertically. European startups are specializing in concrete apply cases: Content Creation (four startups, including ElevenLabs and Lovable), Voice & Conversational (four, including Parloa and GetVocal AI), and Productivity & Automation (nine, including Dust, Langdock, and n8n). The ecosystem is focutilizing on application, integration, and specialization rather than generic AI solutions.
Return of Hardware
After a software-dominated decade, hardware is experiencing a renaissance in Europe. Physical AI (Neura, Dexory) combines artificial innotifyigence with autonomous robotics. The space indusattempt is being industrialized by new players (The Exploration Company, ICEYE, Isar Aerospace), while Defence Tech is emerging as a strategic sector (Helsing, ARX, Quantum Systems, Comand AI).
Maturity in the FinTech Sector
FinTech is evolving beyond neobanks toward specialized infrastructures. Financial Rails (Truelayer, Silverflow), Embedded Finance (Taktile, Flatpay), and Open Finance (Insurely) are gaining importance. Business models are shifting from B2C to B2B2C, with European FinTechs increasingly building the financial infrastructures of tomorrow.
Cybersecurity as a Priority
With the acceleration of Artificial Innotifyigence and the emergence of quantum computing, new security challenges are arising. Five startups are represented in the cybersecurity sector: Aikido Security (Belgium), Stoïk (France), Riot Security (France), Filigran (France), and Exein (Italy).
Selection Criteria for the Ranking
The selection was created in collaboration with five major investment funds: Accel, Eurazeo, HV Capital, Northzone, and Partech. Each startup in the ranking must meet the following requirements:
- Headquarters in Europe
- Demonstrable innovation with transformation potential for its own indusattempt
- Annual revenue (ARR) of at least 5 million euros in 2025
- Annual growth of at least 40 percent over the last three years
