The Atlantic front that grazes the archipelago does not fully enter, but it does reorganize the atmosphere. That relocatement generates a DANA (isolated depression at high levels) which positions itself to the west and concludes up indirectly affecting the Canary Islands.

When the modify starts

Sunday

Cloudy intervals and low possibility of scattered rains. Temperatures rise in the eastern islands.

Monday

Stable day. Cloudiness in the north of the mountainous islands. Without relevant rains.

Tuesday

Clear modify. Light rains appear in the north of Tenerife, La Palma and Gran Canaria and certain persistence is not ruled out in mid-altitude areas.

Where it will rain most

The pattern is very defined.

  • Northern slopes of mountainous islands
  • Middle and high areas exposed to the trade wind
  • Areas where the wind turns to a northwest component

In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura the probability is much lower.

Temperatures and wind: progressive shift

Temperatures will not drop suddenly and remain stable at lows with a slight decrease in highs from Tuesday
The most relevant modify comes from the wind: from northeast component to northwest and then again to northeast.

That turn is what activates precipitation in the north.

Sea state

Moderate swell with northern swell.

  • Estimated height
  • between 1 and 2 meters
  • Usual conditions, without associated sea storm.

What this DANA means

It is not an extreme episode and there are no high-impact warnings but it does break the stability of Holy Week and introduces humidity, cloudiness
and weak rains in specific areas.
