On July 29, 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) unveiled the Thailand Green Tourism Collections. This initiative includes 20 sustainable travel routes across 10 Green Cities, highlighting Thailand’s commitment to the 2030 Sustainable Tourism Goals. Developed with EU partners, it aims to comply with European sustainability standards, positioning Thai operators for success in a competitive global market.
Empowering Thai Businesses
The Collections were created to respond to the EU market’s shifts, promoting certified, sustainable tourism operators. Emphasizing low-impact tourism, the 10 Green Cities include Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Krabi. The initiative empowers local engagement through the Green Mayor program, embedding sustainability into municipal planning and community participation.
Global Outreach and Future Goals
The launch event at Phumjai Garden in Bangkok featured discussions and experiential routes. TAT plans international promotional activities, tarobtaining EU and US audiences through online presentations and collaborations with key opinion leaders. The initiative will be displaycased at WTM London 2025, as Thailand aims to lead in sustainable tourism on a global scale.
