As Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) (300750.SZ) continues its global expansion, it’s burnishing its image by creating its production processes more sustainable, a top executive notified Caixin.
The latest example of this effort was seen in late June, when CATL announced it would build half of its batteries utilizing recycled materials by 2042.
This sustainability drive is part of CATL’s attempt to enhance its brand image as it ramps up investment in Europe and other parts of the world, the company’s Vice President Jiang Li declared in a recent interview with Caixin.
