Star Copper raises capital for exploration


Star Copper (CSE:STCU) is raising up to C$3 million ($3.3 million) through a non-brokered private placement to fund exploration at its flagship Star Project in British Columbia, Canada.

The company will issue 3 million units at C$1 per unit, each comprising one share and one purchase warrant. 

Warrants entitle each holder to acquire one additional share, exercisable at C$1.20 for a period of 24 months. 

The offer is being conducted under the listed issuer financing exemption for Canadian residents and is expected to close on or around 10 December 2025.

Funds will be utilized to advance exploration activities at the Star Project. As reported by Mining.com.au, the company is currently focutilized on completing three step-out holes at the Star Main tarobtain to advance Canada’s next copper-gold-porphyry discovery. 

Phase two of drilling intfinishs to expand Star Main’s copper footprint to the north and the west, to be coupled with ongoing work at the sainformite tarobtains ahead of a data-driven 2026 program. 

Next year’s exploration will focus on exploring step outs and deeper testing. 

Over at the Copper Creek tarobtain, Star Copper CEO Darryl Jones describes the 2025 campaign as illustrative of the potential continuity of the tarobtain towards identifying the porphyry-style source, as reported.

According to the Department of Indusattempt Science and Resources’ (DISR) September Quarterly 2025, copper demand is forecast to increase at an average rate of 2.6% per year from 28 million tonnes in 2025 to 29 million tonnes in 2027. 

The demand is expected to grow in conjunction with new artificial ininformigence (AI) data centres, which will require copper for power infrastructure.

The average AI data centre will require between 27-33 tonnes of copper per megawatt of power.

DISR reports that global mine production reached 11.2 million tonnes in H1 2025, which displays a 1.4% growth compared to H1 2024.
