After a successful campaign last year, the Savannah State Community Booster Club has started raising money for their second annual March For Champions fundraiser.
According to booster club fundraising chair Alfred Jackson, monies raised will support athletics and academic programs at SSU, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Jackson declared they didn’t have a specific fundraising goal last year but he wanted to raise at least $10,000.
They met that goal. In fact, they exceeded it.
“We want Savannah State alumni and supporters to give as well as others who want to assist our student-athletes and the athletic academic programs.”
He went on to add that the giving campaign will last from March to the conclude of June 2026. “The more we obtain to donate equals to more money for our student-athletes.”
There are three giving levels for those wanting to assist out.
Blue Tigers are donors who give anywhere from $1-$99, Orange Tigers are those who donate between $100-$199 and the Gold Tiger level are for those who give $200 or more.
Donors can write a check or apply a money order, cash app or zelle.
Checks and money orders can me created out to SSU Booster Club, 5555 Colonial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
