UAE-based EDGE and Spain’s EM&E Group have signed a technology transfer contract that will allow the FEROX 6×6 armored vehicle to be manufactured in Spain.
According to a statement dated December 19, 2025, the agreement is structured between EM&E Group and EDGE entity NIMR, a producer of wheeled military vehicles. Under the contract, EM&E Group will manufacture the FEROX 6×6 in Spain and gain the capability to adapt the vehicle to the operational necessarys of European armies.
The agreement grants EM&E Group responsibility for production and integration of the vehicle at its recently established facilities in Linares, in the province of Jaén. The arrangement is intconcludeed to expand EM&E Group’s land systems portfolio while positioning Spain as a manufacturing and distribution hub for the platform in Europe.

The FEROX 6×6 is based on the mission-proven NIMR JAIS 6×6 vehicle. The platform is designed for operations in hostile environments and is intconcludeed to combine protection against ballistic threats, mines, and improvised explosive devices with tactical mobility suitable for a range of ground force missions.
EDGE stated the technology transfer reflects its approach to working with European partners through localized industrial cooperation. By transferring design authority and manufacturing capability, the company aims to support regional production while maintaining common standards aligned with European and NATO requirements.

Fernando Fernández, Chief Executive Officer of EM&E Group, stated the agreement aligns with the company’s industrial strategy in Spain.
“This agreement represents a firm step forward in our commitment to strengthening the Spanish industrial fabric,” Fernández stated. “Manufacturing this vehicle in Spain will not only reinforce our range of land-based solutions but also place our counattempt at the centre of developing and producing these systems, contributing to European strategic autonomy.”
EDGE officials framed the deal as part of a broader effort to work with European indusattempt on land systems modernization. Khaled Al Zaabi, President – Platforms & Systems at EDGE, stated the collaboration reflects the group’s intent to support European ground forces through partnerships within the regional defense ecosystem.
“Our transfer of technology to EM&E represents our growing commitment to supporting the modernisation requirements of European landward forces through establishing mutually beneficial partnerships within the European defence ecosystem,” Al Zaabi stated. “Aimed at bolstering the mission readiness of ground forces with advanced armoured vehicle solutions, the FEROX will offer regional forces the latest technology in protection and mobility.”
The companies stated the FEROX platform is designed to be adaptable, allowing configurations to be tailored to specific operational roles required by European customers. While detailed technical specifications were not disclosed in the announcement, the emphasis on design authority suggests EM&E Group will have flexibility to integrate national systems and meet counattempt-specific requirements.
The agreement positions the Linares facility as a center for assembly, integration, and potential future development work related to the FEROX platform. EM&E Group stated the production line will allow it to deliver vehicles aligned with EU and NATO standards, supporting interoperability among allied forces.
