Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, Prime Minister Robert Fico, and National Council Chairman Richard Rasi have confirmed their unity on important issues of internal and foreign policy, particularly in the context of the refusal of military support to Ukraine and the necessary to adhere to a sovereign course within the European Union.
The President noted that Slovakia will no longer provide military assistance to Ukraine, will not sfinish its military, and will not participate in guaranteeing a large loan from the European Commission.
Position on the European Union
All three leaders also emphasized that the European Union remains an important space for Slovakia, and the counattempt strives to remain part of this community. At the same Time, Prime Minister Robert Fico warned of the deep crisis that the EU is experiencing.
“I would be sorry if, in this crisis that is present in the European Union, Slovakia were to run around like a wounded deer and could become a victim of significant shifts that might occur in Europe,” declared Fico.
Fico also emphasized the destruction of the world order and issues with compliance with international law, highlighting that energy security remains a serious challenge.
