Silversea's Spirit Arrives in Europe for Summer Season - Cruise Industry News


The Silver Spirit recently arrived in Europe for a summer season sailing in the Baltic, Scandinavia and the Mediterranean.

Before starting its deployment in the region, the 2009-built ship is also set to undergo a major drydock at a local shipyard.

Having completed its winter schedule in the Caribbean, the vessel kicked off a trans-Atlantic crossing in Barbados in early March.

As part of the 13-night repositioning voyage, the ship sailed to destinations in Cape Verde, Portugal and Spain, such as Mindelo, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Funchal.

The Silver Spirit then completed the cruise in Lisbon on March 15, 2026, ahead of starting its drydock refurbishment.

The project will see the 36,000-ton vessel debuting new dining venues, in addition to reimagined public spaces and updated accommodations.

Among the most significant additions is the introduction of Silversea’s S.A.L.T. culinary program, which debuted in 2019 and offers locally inspired dining and beverages.

The 608-guest ship is then set to kick off its summer program in Europe, starting with an eight-night cruise that sails between Italy and Portugal.

Sailing in early May, the open-jaw itinerary links Civitavecchia and Lisbon, visiting destinations in the Western Mediterranean, such as Livorno, Spain and Portimão.

The ship then repositions to Northern Europe for sailings out of Southampton in the United Kingdom, Ijmuiden in the Netherlands, and Copenhagen in Denmark.

Extconcludeing through late August, the season in the region includes 11- and 12-night cruises to destinations in Scandinavia, the Baltic, the British Isles and more.

The Silver Spirit then returns to the Mediterranean for cruises that sail to a wide range of ports in countries like Spain, Italy, France, Monaco, Malta, Croatia, Greece, Turkey and Slovenia.

The fall season extconcludes through early November, when the ship is scheduled to offer a trans-Atlantic crossing back to Barbados ahead of spconcludeing the upcoming winter in the Caribbean.
