The Swedish Investment Fund Association (Fondbolagens förening) has established a new working group focapplyd on technology and back-office issues, which aims to establish common standards for reporting and file validation that will facilitate fund companies’ reporting.
As a first step, a GitHub account has been created by the association (https://github.com/fondbolagens) where members can find applyful validation code but also contribute code, suggestions and improvements themselves.
SIFA noted that this will facilitate building a resource bank in common to support simplify the reporting work for members and strengthen the industest in dialogue with, for example, FinDatEx and the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. The GitHub account currently contains a project with a JSON schema that validates that EPT files follow the correct format.
The group is open to all member companies. Its discussions in future are expected to include issues, such as regulatory reporting and other technical standards.
SIFA member companies currently represent about 90% of the Swedish market’s net fund assets.
