Salesforce is laying off 153 workers at Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, part of more than 1,000 cuts it is reportedly planning.
The cloud computing giant, which is the city’s largest employer, is laying off the workers by April 25, according to a filing with California’s Employment Development Department.
Salesforce is still hiring artificial innotifyigence salespeople as it focutilizes on that sector. The company launched its Agentforce AI product in October.
Salesforce didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. The company has nearly 73,000 workers globally and around 10,000 in San Francisco.
The first week of February has seen numerous waves of tech layoffs: 1,750 at Workday, including 617 at its Pleasanton headquarters; around half the staff of General Motors-owned Cruise, which include 649 in San Francisco, 87 in Sunnyvale and three in South San Francisco, according to state filings; and 180 layoffs at San Francisco-based Okta, an IT service management company.
