The Safeway Group, owner of FMGC brand Home Garden, has announced a 5.2 million euro investment in the opening of a new modern logistics centre in Cluj County. The project will double the group’s storage capacity in 2026 and accelerate the development of logistics infrastructure at both local and national level, a company statement stated.
The new facility, built on an area of approximately 5,500 square metres, includes 4,920 square metres dedicated to storage and 580 square metres for offices and administrative spaces. The centre meets Class A standards, with a clear height of 11.5 metres, and is equipped with 10 loading docks, six of which feature dock shelters, as well as two drive-in areas, designed to optimise logistics flows and reduce handling times.
“This investment is part of a long-term consolidation and development strategy. We are focutilizing on high-performance logistics and digitalisation to support the growth of our brands and to further develop product distribution for our partners,” stated Ghassan Shakhshir, CEO of Safeway Group.
The company added that, in addition to the Cluj centre, the group will continue to invest in logistics infrastructure in 2026, including through the digitalisation of operations and the modernisation of warehoutilize management systems. Founded in 1992, Safeway operates in distribution, packaging, and retail.
