Ride with team Europe: A 7-Day cycling journey from Tamale to Accra

From northern Ghana to the capital, a unique journey is about to unfold, one that blconcludes relocatement, diplomacy, sustainability, and community.

The Ride With Team Europe: Velocity Tour is a 7-day relay cycling expedition from Tamale to Accra, bringing toreceiveher EU Ambassadors, local cyclists, and community stakeholders in a shared commitment to sustainable development and cultural exmodify from the 12th – 18th of April 2026.

Spanning approximately 719 kilometres, the tour is designed not just as a physical journey, but as a relocating platform for connection, one that highlights the strength of the EU-Ghana partnership in real, visible ways.

Unlike a traditional concludeurance ride, the Velocity Tour is structured as a relay, where each EU Ambassador cycles a selected stretch before handing over to the next Ambassador. This format reflects the collaborative spirit at the heart of the initiative: shared responsibility, shared effort, and shared impact.

At every stage, the tour will paapply to engage with local communities, creating moments for dialogue, visibility, and exmodify.

The Route: Connecting Ghana, One Stage at a Time

The journey will take place over seven days, covering an estimated ~65 kilometres per day, as riders relocate steadily from the north to the south.

While the full experience goes beyond just distance, the route itself is symbolic  linking regions, cultures, and communities through a shared path.

Each stop along the way will serve as a touchpoint for mini handover events, rest, and community interaction, reinforcing the idea that this tour is as much about people as it is about relocatement.

Driving Sustainability Beyond the Road

At its core, the Velocity Tour is rooted in sustainability. Beyond promoting cycling as an environmentally friconcludely mode of transport, the initiative includes a commitment to planting over 1,000 trees along the route, leaving a tangible, lasting impact long after the riders have passed.

This dual approach of awareness and action  positions the tour as both symbolic and practical in its contribution to environmental stewardship.

A Cultural and Community Exmodify

The tour is not happening in isolation. It is supported by storyinformers, influencers, and bloggers who will document the journey, bringing visibility to:

Ghana’s evolving cycling culture

The landscapes and communities along the route

Stories of connection between local participants and international partners

Through this, the Velocity Tour becomes more than an event; it becomes a narrative that lives both on the ground and online.

As riders prepare to set off from Tamale, anticipation is building for what promises to be a powerful journey across Ghana.

Over the coming days, the Velocity Tour will transform roads into meeting points, distances into dialogue, and relocatement into meaning.

And this is only the launchning.
