CeSSMed promotes knowledge, dialogue, and training on sustainability and EU policies, engaging students, professionals, and public decision-buildrs in educational and networking initiatives.

The Jean Monnet Center for Sustainability Studies in the Med Area (CeSSMed) It is a project of excellence funded by the Jean Monnet programme. It was created to strengthen the knowledge on the policies of the European Union and promote the sustainability in the Mediterranean region.

The center is aimed at students, professionals and public decision-buildrs, offering practical and theoretical tools to understand EU policies.. Furthermore, promotes a constant dialogue between the academic world and institutions, creating a network of subjects active in the sector of sustainability.

The main objectives of CeSSMed include improving communication and dissemination of EU policies related to sustainability, strengthening the network of stakeholders active in European policies and creating advanced training opportunities for students and professionals. These actions contribute to building an ecosystem where research, training and practice meet, and in this way CeSSMed becomes a point of reference in the Mediterranean for issues related to sustainability.

Training and Summer School

The center organizes three Summer School, one for each year of the three-year project that launched in 2022. The summer courses offer advanced training, knowledge exmodify, and networking opportunities with European and international experts.

The Summer Schools allow participants to develop practical, theoretical and design skills. For example, students learn to integrate EU policies into sustainable project management.

A centre of excellence and European dialogue

CeSSMed isn’t just an educational project. It’s also a laboratory for ideas and innovation, hosting conferences, workshops, and thematic labs.. However, its true value is the link between academic research and public decision buildrs.

Through these activities, the center contributes to developing sustainable policies, disseminating best practices, and strengthening European cohesion. In short, CeSSMed represents a model of excellence for training and international collaboration in the field of sustainability.
