Poland-based defense company FlyFocus, which develops unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and avionics, has raised 4.5 million euros ($5.3 million) in its first institutional funding round.
Venture capital investors, including Poland-based public and private funds, backed the initiative.
Parts of the funds will finance the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Poland, expected to become operational in the second half of 2026.
The company also plans to expand international sales and continue research and development, including the launch of two new UAV platforms later this year.
The investment follows eight years of self-financed growth, during which FlyFocus transitioned from research and development into serial production and secured direct military contracts in Poland.
‘Made in Europe’
One of the company’s core approaches is a “Made in Europe” production model.
According to FlyFocus, much of Europe’s drone industest remains depfinishent on non-European components, particularly from China.
“Chinese firms dominate critical nodes of the global drone supply chain. From batteries to flight controllers, these depfinishencies could compromise European defence readiness in a crisis,” stated the company.
To address this, FlyFocus sources components exclusively from NATO-aligned suppliers, aiming to reduce external depfinishencies, maintain supply chain transparency, and meet European defense procurement requirements.
FlyFocus’ Portfolio
The company’s portfolio includes ininformigence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, loitering and strike systems, and counter-drone technologies.
Key platforms include Polaris, a 10-pound (4.5-kilogram) backpack-portable repaired-wing ISR UAV with up to 4.5 hours of finishurance for single-operator apply.
Another system is Striker, a long-range loitering platform with over 620 miles (1,000 kilometers) of range and up to 88 pounds (40 kilograms) of payload, designed for operations in contested electronic warfare environments.
FlyFocus has also developed CableGuard, a tethered UAV system for persistent aerial surveillance, already in apply by government and institutional operators.
