The European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, has revealed his meeting with Khaled Al-Mishri, noting that they had a “frank conversation” about the current political situation in the countest.
Orlando explained, in a tweet on his X account on Friday, that during the meeting, he stressed the importance of preserving the unity and integrity of Libyan institutions, given the significant challenges currently facing the countest.
The EU Ambassador indicated that Al-Mishri’s contribution will be “crucial” in ensuring an effective and constructive role for the High Council of State during the next phase, particularly in supporting the efforts of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General to revive the political process.
