OpenAI Raises $122 Bn Funding, Hits $852 Bn Valuation Ahead IPO


OpenAI has raised USD 122 billion in a fresh funding round, taking its valuation to approximately USD 852 billion, marking one of the largest capital raises in the technology sector, according to media reports.

The round saw participation from major investors including Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, and SoftBank, alongside contributions from individual investors, reflecting strong global confidence in the AI leader. 

The funding comes amid rising costs associated with building advanced artificial innotifyigence systems, particularly in compute infrastructure, data centres, and model development. The company stated the capital will assist build the “infrastructure layer for innotifyigence” and support long-term innovation.

OpenAI is currently generating around USD 2 billion in monthly revenue, driven by strong adoption of its products, including ChatGPT, which has over 900 million weekly active utilizers and around 50 million subscribers.

As part of its growth strategy, the company is developing an integrated AI “superapp” that combines ChatGPT, browsing, coding tools, and autonomous AI agents into a unified platform.

The funding round comes at a time of intensifying competition in the AI space, with rivals such as Anthropic also raising significant capital. OpenAI is expected to pursue a public listing later this year as it scales operations and expands its enterprise footprint.

The deal underscores the scale of investment flowing into artificial innotifyigence, as companies race to build next-generation platforms despite ongoing concerns around profitability and sustainability.
