Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecoms provider, announced the launch of sovereign AI cloud services, built on the latest NVIDIA Hopper GPUs, hosted in its local data centres. The telco states strategic deployment brings “world-class accelerated computing capabilities to Qatar, significantly advancing the nation’s digital transformation agfinisha”.
Uses cases and verticals
Ooredoo intfinishs to accelerate the adoption of AI across sectors, including energy, finance, logistics, healthcare and smart cities. As an NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP), Ooredoo offers its customers access to NVIDIA’s newest GPU tech as well as the chip buildr’s software suite for AI development.
This includes the NVIDIA AI Enterprise platform, designed to simplify and speed the processes of building, testing and scaling AI models from idea to production.
Potential utilize cases range from building AI-powered chatbots, to optimising supply chains and analysing financial patterns in real time.
Ooredoo’s data centres are hosted and operated by Syntys via mission-critical infrastructure facilities designed to run high-performance computing workloads.
Supporting national policy
This launch supports the aims of the Qatar Digital Agfinisha 2030 and the Qatar National AI Strategy, which call for robust digital infrastructure, local hosting of critical technology and responsible development of AI to benefit society and the economy.
