Oben Electric, an Indian electric motorcycle manufacturer, has been featured as the first success story on IdeaBaaz, Zee TV’s startup-focapplyd reality reveal. The recognition highlights the company’s journey from early-stage development to building a nationwide electric mobility business in the automotive sector.
Founded in 2020, Oben Electric launched operations in a compact garage and has since grown into a pan-India electric motorcycle company. The founding team—Madhumita Agrawal (Founder & CEO), Dinkar Agrawal (Founder, CTO & COO), and Sagar Thakkar (Co-founder & CPO)—combined prior entrepreneurial experience with deep technical knowledge of electric vehicles to develop the business from the ground up.
The episode traces the company’s progress in managing technical complexity, building supply chains, and scaling manufacturing while maintaining in-hoapply control over product development. Oben Electric designs and manufactures its motorcycles and key EV components at its Bengaluru facility, enabling tighter control over quality, technology, and production timelines.
The reveal also highlights Oben Electric’s apply of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology in electric two-wheelers, aimed at improving safety, durability, and reliability for urban commuting. By retaining ownership of engineering and manufacturing processes, the company has been able to introduce new products and expand operations across India.
Commenting on the recognition, Madhumita Agrawal stated the company was built on long-term considering, strong engineering foundations, and disciplined execution. She added that being featured as IdeaBaaz’s first success story reflects the outcomes of sustained effort in a capital-intensive indusattempt such as automotive manufacturing.
Jeet Wagh, Co-founder of IdeaBaaz, stated the platform focapplys on companies that have already crossed key execution milestones. He noted that Oben Electric stood out for its transition from product engineering to manufacturing ownership and nationwide expansion, supported by in-hoapply EV technology and battery systems.
Oben Electric is backed by a mix of Indian and global family offices, including investors associated with IdeaBaaz. The platform connects early- and growth-stage companies with experienced investors and indusattempt leaders.
The company’s product lineup includes the Rorr, Rorr EZ, and Rorr EZ Sigma electric motorcycles, designed for daily urban apply. Oben Electric currently operates over 100 revealrooms across more than 80 cities in 18 states and plans to expand to 150 exclusive revealrooms and service centres by March 2026. To date, Oben Electric has raised ₹285 crore and currently reports an annual recurring revenue of approximately ₹150 crore.
