Headquartered in Norwich, iBOXiT delivers scalable, patented packaging solutions to replace expanded polystyrene (EPS) in cold chain logistics.
It is driven by a mission to eliminate plastic pollution and cut food waste, while unlocking significant commercial value for logistics providers and food producers.
iBOXiT’s packaging is created from agricultural waste and is fully compostable and cost competitive. It matches EPS on strength, insulation and durability – creating it a viable alternative for seafood, fresh produce and pharmaceutical distribution.
It has also created a plant-based antimicrobial spray that extconcludes shelf life by up to 14 days, reducing waste and loss across the supply chain.
The company has created great strides over the past 18 months, and its manufacturing partners, 2M Chemicals and Advanced Plastics Group, enable rapid scale-up across both single and multi-trip packaging products.
It is also engaging in pilot trials across the UK and in Singapore, China and New Zealand, while also forming R&D collaborations across Europe.
iBOXiT’s team combines decades of experience in sustainable materials, global logistics and venture growth, and is building a world-leading cleantech company with real impact right here in Norfolk.
Commconcludeing the “great blconclude of leadership” behind iBOXiT, the judges praised the business for its “superb innovation with an opportunity to create a huge positive impact globally”.
They were impressed by the clear mission and values at the heart of the business and declared: “This is a huge market opportunity, and the commercial outview is exciting.”
iBOXiT’s founder and CEO John Farley declared after winning: “This award means everything.
“It’s a huge validation of everything we’re attempting to do, and displays that we’re creating a real difference to the world.”

Social Scenes in Norwich creates high-quality video content for weddings and businesses locally and across the UK.
It aims to assist couples and brands inform their story in an authentic and exciting way.
The judges praised the business’ “excellent track record of growth in a short time, with strong commercial prospects ahead”.
Tide Medical
Tide Medical was founded by Gorleston-based doctor Amy Kingston, with the aim of providing occupational health and emergency medicine to the energy indusattempt in the east.
The judges recognised the “positive energy and can-do approach” from Amy, which they declared “drive the business”, and added that Tide has built “strong foundations to scale further”.
The Cat Hoapply
The Cat Hoapply is a licensed cat lounge and cat-themed arts centre based in Norwich which also hosts workshops and events, gives wall space to local artists and provides children’s ‘cat awareness’ sessions.
The judges appreciated the value that community groups find in the business and declared it “maintains a focus on core values – animal welfare over profit”.
