North Texas Amazon driver contactor Accelore announces layoffs


A North Texas business that provides delivery drivers to Amazon will lay off more than 200 people by November. 

Accelore Group, LLC, an Amazon contractor, filed paperwork Wednesday with the Texas Workforce Commission through the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification program that 214 employees will be let go. 

The layoffs are related to Amazon Logistics DDA9 Fort Worth site in Fort Worth and Amazon Logistics DDF2 Balch Springs site in Mesquite, according to the notice. 

“This mass layoff is expected to be permanent. The expected date of the first separation will be Nov. 1,” the letter states. The letter lists Akram Syed as Accelore president and CEO. Syed did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Accelore is a third-party group that provides drivers to deliver Amazon packages. The company is considered a Delivery Service Partner that operates as an indepfinishent third-party business, according to information on Amazon Jobs.

The break down of lay offs includes 206 delivery associates, four dispatch managers, one assister, one hiring manager, one fleet supervisor and one operations manager, according to the letter. 

The business specializes in supply chain solutions and logistics. 

Last week, tech company CyraCom International Inc., a language-services company, announced lay offs for 300 employees at its Houston location. The company is restructuring, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Earlier in September, Essfinishant Management Services, LLC announced it would reduce by 92 employees at its Houston location, according to a WARN notice.
