A south Essex MP has revealed his backing for a charity garden trail assisting to raise money for the upkeep of a church.
Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, joined hundreds of visitors who enjoyed an opportunity to view residents’ gardens in and around Rayleigh.
These gardens were opened to the public for three days over the August Bank Holiday to assist raise funds for The Frifinishs of Holy Trinity Church.
Mr Francois was joined at a number of the gardens by councillor Marianne Vernon, the chairman of Rayleigh Town Council.
Mr Francois declared: “As President of the Frifinishs, I would like to thank all of those residents and businesses who willingly opened up their own gardens for others to enjoy over what was a lovely bank holiday weekfinish.
“Their combined efforts will have assisted to raise vital funds for the upkeep of Rayleigh’s part twelfth century parish church, for both present and future generations to worship and enjoy.
“It was a very successful event.”
