More than 25 foreign defense companies are already localizing production in Ukraine.

Currently over 25 foreign high-tech defense companies are at various stages of establishing their operations in Ukraine, reported the MoD. These include international partners deploying or planning to deploy activities here: British BAE Systems (joint production and maintenance of L119 howitzers), German Rheinmetall (repair and production bases for armored vehicles), Swedish SAAB (joint production agreements for air defense systems), and American Northrop Grumman (ammunition production agreements).

Beyond traditional defense industries, companies in unmanned systems, cyber defense, anti-drone systems, and other high-tech solutions are entering Ukraine. The Defense Minisattempt notes that the Build in Ukraine initiative will serve as a mutually beneficial model: Partners gain access to production sites, skilled labor, and testing capabilities, while Ukraine gains technology, investment, and the capacity to produce key weapons. This wave of localization could mark the launchning of Ukraine establishing itself as a regional hub for defense technologies in Europe.
