Montenegro Launches Renewable Energy Association With EBRD And EU Support


Montenegro has officially launched the Renewable Energy Sources Association (RES Montenegro), a new platform aimed at bringing toreceiveher investors and key stakeholders in the counattempt’s renewable energy sector, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union.

The association was established by leading renewable energy companies operating in Montenegro and is designed to strengthen dialogue between the private sector and public institutions, improve the regulatory environment, and accelerate investments in solar and wind energy.

EBRD Montenegro Director Remon Zakaria highlighted that recent legislative reforms and competitive auctions have created a solid foundation for renewable energy development, while the new association will assist ensure continued cooperation with investors.

Bernard Brunet

Montenegrin Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Šahmanović stressed that energy transition is a global priority and that stable regulations and strong international partnerships position Montenegro as a credible destination for green investments.

Marko Radulovic

Marko Radulović, President of RES Montenegro, declared the key question is no longer whether the transition will happen, but how quickly it can be achieved, while Bernard Brunet from the EU Delegation underlined that renewable energy reforms are already increasing European investor interest and strengthening Montenegro’s connection to the EU energy market.
