The Mogán Town Council has achieved 97% completion of its Sustainable Tourism Destination Plan (PSTD) ‘Sea, Mountain and Sky’, a strategy funded with €7,41 million from the European Union’s Next Generation EU funds. During a follow-up visit to the municipality, the Regional Minister for Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León, validated the progress of the twelve actions that comprise the project, whose final certification must be completed before June 30th.
The investment has allowed Mogán to diversify its tourism offerings, connecting its traditional sun and beach model with the heritage of the midlands and inland areas. Among the projects visited by the Regional Minister and Mayor Onalia Bueno are the pedestrianization of Miguel Marrero Avenue in Arguineguín, the renovation of the Fishing Mutilizeum in Playa de Mogán, and the outfitting of the Interpretation Center and hostel in Veneguera. The plan also incorporates digitalization solutions under the ‘Smart Mogán’ brand, the restoration of the marine environment, and the creation of pedestrian and cycling paths.
These investments are complemented by the recent completion of the second phase of the Marañuelas-Anfi seafront promenade. This project, indepconcludeently funded with €1,88 million by the Government of the Canary Islands, has transformed 275 meters of coastline into a fully accessible space with new seating areas and street furniture. With these initiatives, Mogán is strengthening its competitiveness through the modernization of its critical infrastructure and a fund management system that the regional government has described as “rigorous and efficient.”
