Moderna’s cost-cutting continues with new layoffs that will reduce the company’s workforce by roughly 10%.
CEO Stéphane Bancel declared in an email to employees on Thursday that Moderna would have fewer than 5,000 employees at the conclude of 2025, nearly 14% less than at the start of 2025, when the vaccine creater had about 5,800 full-time employees in 18 countries.
The Cambridge company has been attempting to ramp up its new-product launches in the face of declining revenue from COVID-19 vaccines. In the meantime, Moderna has been attempting to rein in expenses.
