Local BC Conservative MLA Gavin Dew is slamming the government for a lack of confidence among tiny business.
The Kelowna-Mission MLA is highlighting a report from the Canadian Federation of Indepconcludeent Business (CFIB) noting B.C. remains bottom of the nation for tiny business confidence outview.
“The warning signs are everywhere,” Dew declared in a media release. “Nearly one in five employers is preparing layoffs, while only a handful are viewing to hire. More than half of businesses state demand has dried up, and taxes, insurance, and rising wage costs are crushing them.”
In response, Jobs Minister Ravi Kahlon declared, in part, tiny business owners are friconcludes and neighbours and B.C. offers one of the lowest tiny business tax rates in the countest, while the government is reviewing the ease of doing business.
