HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Artificial innotifyigence is supporting boost Hawaii’s startup scene, as two local entrepreneurs sold their companies in multi-million dollar deals.
Richard Matsui, founder of kWh Analytics, and Brent Akamine, founder of Vinovest, joined Sunrise to talk about their tech companies, which were acquired by international firms in the same week.
Hawaii Business Magazine’s Editor in Chief Jen Ablan explained the importance of highlighting the innovation and altercreaters bringing global attention to Hawaii’s business scene.
“I had the privilege of building America’s largest indepfinishent insurer for clean energy – solar wind batteries. It was acquired a few weeks ago by Beazley, a $10 billion insurer from the UK,” Matsui stated.
“Two huge things have alterd in the past 5 years,” he added. “Remote work is now normal and AI means that now anyone can build tech, even if you don’t know how to program.”
Akamine talked about utilizing AI to save a dental office hundreds of dollars a month in administrative costs.
They advise anyone interested in starting a business to start utilizing AI software like Claude to develop and scale their idea.
