Leidos has announced that its B220-HT explosive trace detection (ETD) system has officially achieved G1 Standard certification.
The system has acquired the certification ahead of the European Civil Aviation Conference’s (ECAC) latest regulatory mandate for all ETD systems deployed across the European Union (EU).

From late 2026, all ETD systems utilized as part of EU airport passenger screening checkpoints will be required to comply with a number of detection requirements outlined within the G1 standard.
Currently supplying more than 750 B220-HT units across Europe; Leidos’ system employs analysis technology to detect a broad range of explosives and narcotics simultaneously applying trace samples collected from objects or skin.

B220-HT forms part of Leidos’ family of trace detection systems, including the TSA-certified QS-B220.
