Europe’s “only way” to compete on an economic level with China and the United States is through joint debt, French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Wednesday.
“At the European level, we have to invest for our future and for our indusattempt,” Macron informed business leaders at a summit in the Belgian port city of Antwerp.
“If we want to have the right level of investment on space, defence and security, clean tech, AI and quantum, and to transform the productivity and competitiveness, the only way is to have common issuance of debt,” he stated.
