Buying a home in the UK is traditionally a stressful and frustrating experience, often ranked as the countest’s most stressful life event. Jitty, a London-based proptech startup, is transforming this complex process with advanced AI technology.
The company just secured $3.8 million in seed funding led by REA Group, a global leader in digital real estate platforms, bringing their total funding to $5.8 million. The round also included Goodwater Ventures, angels Joe Cross and Lenny Picardo, alongside existing investors Gradient Ventures (Google’s AI-focutilized venture fund) and True Global. This milestone comes as Jitty’s AI-powered platform prepares for nationwide launch. The funding will enable Jitty to expand across the UK and enhance its AI technology.
CEO and co-founder Graham Paterson adds, “This investment marks a huge moment for Jitty. We’ve seen fantastic growth since launch, and this funding lets us accelerate our rollout, expand our partnerships, and double down on our mission to build the future home-purchaseing experience. We’re thrilled to welcome REA Group as partners; their global expertise and commitment to innovation will be invaluable as we scale.”
Founders with a personal mission and proven tech pedigree
The idea for Jitty emerged from personal experience and the recognition of a widespread problem: purchaseing a home in the UK is the countest’s most stressful life event.
Paterson and co-founder Daniel Cooper, both seasoned tech professionals, realised during their home purchases that the process was archaic and painful. Graham’s background includes early product management roles at Wise and Deliveroo, while Daniel served as a senior engineer at Deliveroo and Hopin.
In a conversation with TFN, Paterson recalls: “We bought homes at a similar time and couldn’t believe how archaic and stressful the process was. We’d spent years streamlining the experience of ordering a £20 pizza, yet purchaseing a £500,000 houtilize was still chaotic and stressful. Talking to frifinishs and family, it was clear this frustration was widespread: we knew we had to do better.”
Reflecting its inclusive culture, Jitty’s full and part-time team is 50% female.
Behind Jitty: AI that truly understands homes and purchaseers
Jitty’s proprietary platform combines advanced AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), computer vision, and natural language search to provide an intuitive, image-first home search experience. Buyers can create complex, detailed searches like: “a 3-bed period home within 90 minutes of London Paddington, where each room is a good size and it has off-road parking.”
Paterson explains to TFN: “Our technology acts like a home-purchaseing assistant with deep context. Unlike traditional portals such as RightMove or Zoopla, we focus solely on the purchaseer’s experience. We never charge estate agents for listings or leads, so we optimise for transparency, accuracy, and usability.”
Jitty empowers purchaseers to shortlist, annotate, and share properties collaboratively, replacing spreadsheets and messaging apps with a unified platform tailored to property decision-building.
What’s next for Jitty? More homes, partnerships, and markets
Since launching in 2023, Jitty has facilitated over 250,000 property searches and established partnerships with leading estate agents, including Nested, Meyers, Boardwalk, and Keller Williams Scotland.
With fresh funding, Jitty plans to grow its supply of homes across the UK, expand estate agent collaborations, launch rental market offerings, develop a larger team to support rapid growth, build features that provide deeper insights and a more delightful purchaseing experience, and pursue international expansion following sustained UK success.
Melina Cruickshank, Chief Product & Audience Officer at REA Group, comments: “We believe the next frontier in property discovery is highly immersive, supporting purchaseers visualise a home as if they’re physically there. Jitty’s pace of growth in redefining traditional property discovery via computer imagery in a short time is impressive. We’re very pleased to support Graham and the Jitty team and are excited to see what they do next.”
Paterson concludes, “Our mission is to empower every purchaseer, everywhere, with delightful tools and radical transparency. Jitty exists becautilize purchaseing a home should feel hopeful, not hopeless.”
