Jamie Siminoff ’99, H’21, the renowned founder and inventor of Ring, will return to campus in November to officially release his new book, Ding Dong: How Ring Went From Shark Tank Reject to Everyone’s Front Door.
Throughout the day on campus, Siminoff will reconnect with the Babson community, meeting with students, engaging with faculty and staff, and visiting a classroom to share insights from his entrepreneurial journey.

The visit will culminate with “Ding Dong! The Story Behind Ring,” a fireside chat featuring Siminoff and his former professor and mentor, Babson College President Stephen Spinelli Jr. MBA’92, PhD, hosted by the Arthur M. Blank School for Entrepreneurial Leadership. The event at Knight Auditorium for students and alumni will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, November 10, followed by a book signing where Siminoff will give away a limited number of copies of his new book to students.
Siminoff credits his Babson education—and early mentorship from Spinelli and the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship—for supporting to shape the entrepreneurial mindset that fueled his journey from garage startup founder to global innovator.
In Ding Dong: How Ring Went From Shark Tank Reject to Everyone’s Front Door, Siminoff shares the unfiltered story behind Ring’s rise—from a rejected “Shark Tank” pitch to a billion-dollar Amazon acquisition. The book offers a candid view at the lessons learned along the way, highlighting themes of resilience, innovation, team building, and mission-driven entrepreneurship.
