At the entrance of Brad Moran’s 8888-square-metre property in the Gold Coast hinterland, there is a massive fountain with an infinity edge, complete with mosaic tiles featuring 24-carat gold. There is also a mature dragon tree, a 10-metre-high front door and a nine-car garage. Paapplying for breath at the top of the steep driveway, you’d likely believe this is the home of someone who has “built it”.
For Moran, an AFL player turned entrepreneur, this is not just a home: it’s a stronghold he has dedicated years of his life to perfecting. Inside, the curves of the outdoor space are replicated. The kitchen and bathrooms feature rare Italian marble; Ralph Lauren and Kelly Wearstler fittings adorn the rooms. Instead of feeling overwhelmingly large, the doors blconclude invisibly into the walls.
